Chapter 5
It had seemed like a pretty normal day to anyone that was around that day, Zant was cleaning around the Palace as well helping out the King for it seemed that he had gotten sick for the last couple of weeks, but it seemed like it was just a common cold. Though the truth was soon about to reveal itself in a horrible way. As he was walking around the halls for he had done all of his instructed duties and was waiting for more orders to come around. He was then walking near the the Kings Bedroom when all the sudden the door's markings began to glow and he hid in the shadows of one of the corners. The person who came out was one of the young maids who had works here, and her eyes were streaming with tears right down her face as it was soon covered by her hands and ran down one of the hall crying. Something wasn't right.
Quickly Zant went to the the door which wasn't fully closed since the maid accidentally kicked a shoe there by mistake, he slowly and carefully peeked through the crack to see the insides of the King's coridors. But for some strange reason the King wasn't there, he then opened the door fully and walked around a little bit to see if anyone was around. Then something caught his eye, by the bed there was a cup that had water dripping out of it on the ground and as soon as he looked at the bed he was shocked, the garmets the King always wore were still there but instead of the clothes being all nicely put together they were in the formation of a person with one of the arms near the fallen cup, and then it all made sense. The King...is dead...
He just walked out the room and out of the palace without saying one word to anyone, even on the streets he was all quiet and just walked into the forest. He wanted some time alone for he was feeling awful right now, and yet he strangely felt good inside, he knew that they needed a new King and this was his chance to get what he always wished for. He began hearing footsteps a little farther away and decided to check and see who it was, and could you believe it was Midna walking around the forest grounds.
"M-Midna..." He called out to the other Twili who soon reacted to the call of her name and smiled when she saw the other tall character. "Hey there Zanty! You done all your chores already? Eh hehe! She giggled as she went over to his side and nudged him by the side, though as she looked at Zants face she saw that he was quite un-happy."What's wrong Zant?" She asked in a voice that was both serious and concerned.
Zant just sighed as he looked down at Midna with deep sorrow in his eyes. "It's...it's about the the King... He said in a serious kind of tone, though he knew that he shouldn't tell anyone about this yet it was probably best to get this out of his system. Midna had a questioning look in her eyes and though as much as she wanted to say something she honestly couldn't, so she just let Zant go to finish what he was going to say. "He has now... passed on in life." He just put it out to her as clear as he could to her.
Midna just gasped in total shock of what she was told, the King was dead? She just couldn't possibly believe it. Zant could tell from the confusion in her eyes that she didn't exactly really know what he ment. "I found his robes on his bed, He died around in the afternoon." Midna just took another step back away from Zant as tears began filling her eyes. "No..." She said as her voice was filled with sadness as she then went up to Zant and cryed on his chest. Zant just put his arms around her as he lowered his head down as he tried to care of the weeping Twili in this tragic affair.
